The Financial Literacy Excellence (Filex) Awards, under the auspices of Development Initiatives Network, debuted in 2015 as Nigeria's first recognition platform for honouring and celebrating the achievements of individuals and organizations whose activities have delivered impact or innovation in the important work of ensuring that everyone in Nigeria has the knowledge and confidence to make sound financial decisions and engage effectively with financial institutions.
The independent Filex Awards Committee selects winners and Awards have been presented in 2016 and 2017.
Award for Organizations:
Corporate Achievement Award. Awarded in two categories to a financial institution and a non-financial institution for a financial literacy activity with proven results.
Innovation Award. Awarded for the use of technology in an invention, design, model or resource with the potential for or proven impact or results in promoting financial literacy.
Award for an Individual:
Consumer Champion Award. Awarded for outstanding achievements by an individual in promoting financial literacy.
WHO CAN ENTER?
For the Corporate Achievement Award, a Nigerian-registered business, company, social enterprise or nonprofit/non-governmental organization.
For the Innovation Award, a Nigerian-registered business, company, social enterprise or nonprofit/non-governmental organization.
For the Consumer Champion Award, a Nigerian citizen or an individual resident in Nigeria.

Self-nominations are permitted.
The nomination must be for a specific service, product, programme or resource about financial literacy. In the case of the Consumer Champion Award, it can also be for an activity addressing the interests, concerns, rights or entitlements of financial consumers in Nigeria.
